It started in an attic.

Long before I had a name for it, I was styling. Dressing my Barbies in the boldest looks I could imagine, next to my grandmother, for hours behind her sewing machine. One of my favorite outfits came from exactly that: a cream-and-black striped two-piece, top and skirt, that we made together. She was also the one who took us along to the most exciting new art exhibitions, planting an early love for image and visual storytelling that never left. My other grandmother was known for something entirely different. She traveled abroad to buy and sell clothing, and built a name for her cooking, which she sold at events.

Creativity ran through the whole family, just in different forms. My mother has an effortless sense of style. My father has one of the most creative minds I know. He once built us a bow and arrow from branches he found, and turned my birthday treat at school into an entire Hansel and Gretel candy house. Looking back, I think that's where it all began: image, story, and making something out of nothing, long before it became my work.

Travel has always been part of who I am. My family has always moved between countries, and I grew up between two cultures myself. That upbringing taught me something I still carry into everything I do: to be genuinely curious about others, to treat everyone as equals, and to see difference not as something to smooth over, but to celebrate. We are, in many ways, all the same and at the same time, all completely different. That's exactly where the strength lies.

I studied at Academie Artemis, and since then I've moved through the many sides of this industry. As a stylist for MME Hospitality's events, as Visual Specialist at de Bijenkorf, and as a freelance stylist working across editorial and commercial projects. Alongside that, I'm building my own label, Kuamor, rooted in the same belief that's guided me from the very beginning: style is never about blending in.

At my core, I'm a fashionista in heart and soul, driven by pure passion. I don't just work in fashion, I breathe it: the shows, the shifts in silhouette season to season, the story behind why a designer chose one fabric over another. That passion is exactly where my work starts. I listen for the story underneath first. What someone or something is really saying. Then let my creativity run from there, chasing the unexpected, the detail that challenges rather than simply pleases. My eye rarely stays in fashion alone. It wanders through the streets, architecture, cultures, nature, art, the textures and materials of the world around me, and somehow it all finds its way back into the work. I don't dress a concept. I chase a feeling until it's strong enough to hold the whole idea together, then I build the look around it.

My strength is translation: taking a feeling most people can't name yet, and making it visible. On a runway rail, in a shop window, on my own label, Kuamor. Different rooms, same instinct, always chasing the same result: a visual that stops people, and moves them. Editorial is where I feel most at home and where I'm headed, with everything I do building toward it.

Still, some nights, it's just me, the way it started. An idea, a feeling, and no name for it yet.
